What we collect when you write to us, why we keep it, and how to have it removed.
We only ask for what we need to answer you, and we don’t sell it or share it for advertising. Last updated September 2026.
What we collect
When you use the contact form — your name, email address, what your message is about, and the message itself. If you’re writing as press, also your outlet, the kind of request, and any deadline you give us.
When you use the booking form — your name, organisation, email address and phone number, plus the details of the event you’re planning: its name and type, dates, city and venue, who you’d like on the bill, how long a set you want, what you can cover on logistics, and your budget.
When you join the mailing list — your email address, nothing else.
When you simply browse — anonymous, cookieless analytics: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what referred you, and what kind of device you’re on. This is not tied to you as a person and we cannot use it to identify you.
Why we keep it
To reply to you, to plan events with you, and to send you the mailing list if you asked for it. Analytics tells us which parts of the site are worth keeping.
We never sell your information, never share it for advertising, and never send you marketing you didn’t ask for. If you filled in a form, you’ll hear back about that — you’re not added to the mailing list by doing so.
Where it goes
Your message is stored in our database and emailed to the team. That means a few companies process it on our behalf:
- Supabase — the database holding form submissions.
- Resend — sends the email to us and the confirmation to you.
- Kit — the mailing list, if you joined it.
- PostHog — anonymous analytics.
- Hostinger — hosts the site itself.
Some of these operate outside your country, so your information may be processed abroad.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. Our analytics runs without them, which is why you aren’t being asked to dismiss a cookie banner. The only cookie we set is a login session for our own team members using the admin area.
How long we keep it
We delete things automatically rather than keeping them indefinitely:
- Booking requests — two years, then deleted.
- Contact messages — one year, then deleted.
- Technical logs — 90 days. These can briefly contain a message that failed to send, which is how we recover it.
Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe — every email has a link. Analytics is anonymous and is never linked to you.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@godinthismusic.com and we’ll deal with it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to how we use your information, or to complain to your national data protection regulator.
To leave the mailing list, use the unsubscribe link in any email — you don’t need to ask us.
